Journal Metrics & Key Facts
Peer Review Policy
JBIR employs a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent expert reviewers, followed by an editorial decision. Our reviewers adhere to the highest standards of confidentiality and ethical guidelines. The average time from submission to first decision is 4–6 weeks.
Open Access Policy
JBIR is a fully open-access journal, meaning all content is freely available without charge to the user or their institution. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited. Authors retain copyright of their work.
Article Processing Fee
To sustain open access and cover editorial and production costs, JBIR charges an Article Processing Fee (APF) for manuscripts accepted after peer review. Fees are waived for authors from low-income countries or those with limited funding (upon request).
Standard APF: $750 USD (for research articles, reviews).
Short communications / commentaries: $400 USD.
No submission fees.
Publication Frequency
JBIR publishes four issues per year (quarterly): March, June, September, and December. Articles are published online immediately upon final acceptance and formatted for the respective issue.
Digital Archiving
All articles are deposited in CLOCKSS and Portico to ensure long-term digital preservation. JBIR is also a member of the CrossRef initiative, assigning DOIs to all published content.
Abstracting & Indexing
